Chapter Chat: The Hobbit

As Middle-Earth March continues, this month’s chapter chat will feature The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic children’s novel that went on to inspire The Lord of the Rings.


The Hobbit is set in the enchanted, richly detailed world of Middle-Earth. It follows the home-loving Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit of the title, who joins the wizard Gandalf and the thirteen dwarves of Thorin’s Company on a quest to reclaim the dwarves' home and treasure from the mighty dragon Smaug.


Come enjoy an hour of videos, trivia, prizes, activities, and maybe even some second breakfast in our own little book-filled corner of the Shire. This event is for ages 8 - 12.
