Even though it’s short notice we will be holding The Other Trophy Event at Fastlane on September 12th & 13th. Each year we try to hold 2 outdoor trophy events but the name of the second one always varies. Since it’s the other event after the Offroad Riot, we’re just calling it The Other Trophy Event this year.
We are aiming for this to be a fun event with practice on Friday and all racing on Saturday. We will be trying out a slightly different format (stolen with pride from Nitro Mania) using 2 rounds of IFMAR qualifying followed by a Super Pole Round and then Mains. This gives us 2 rounds of time trials and 2 rounds of heads up racing. It also provides double the opportunity for racers to bump up.
Here is how that will work. After the 2 rounds of IFMAR qualifiers, we will set up heats using a racer’s best single qualifying round just as we would normally set up mains. This gives us A heats, B heats, C heats, etc. Then we run the 3rd round as heads up racing. If you finish first in a lower heat in this round, you will bump up to the next highest round for Mains. So the winner of the B heat bumps to the A Main, winner of the C heat bumps to the B main, etc. We then run the Mains as usual with bumps from lower mains in that round as well. Main heats are lined up based on finishing order in the Super Pole round but if you qualified for the A heat from the IFMAR rounds you are locked in to the A Main no matter your result in the Super Pole.
Given the late notice on the details for the event we will not be using RCSignup for the event. Just show up and sign in at the track.
