Working All the Angles Photography Workshop

Join Adirondack photographer, Carl Heilman II, for a daylong photography workshop that will help inspire you to explore a range of shooting options to expand your photographic creativity. The day will begin with a morning classroom discussion where we’ll cover camera setup options plus details and questions about the basic photography principles—exposure, motion, and depth of field. Carl will also discuss equipment and lens options to help folks more easily explore various shooting angles when on location.

During the afternoon we will experiment with the covered techniques along with different ways of looking at subjects while going to various exhibits around the museum grounds. We’ll also walk the trail to scenic Minnow Pond as long as the weather cooperates.

Participants should bring along a camera, tripod, a variety of lenses and focal lengths from wide angle to telephoto, and any close-up (macro) equipment they might have. There are no specific requirements, but a larger range of equipment choices will offer a greater variety of shooting options. (For example, in his standard camera bag, Carl carries 2 DSLR mirrorless camera bodies, a 14-24, 24-120, 70-300 zooms, plus a 50mm lens, and extension tubes for close-up options. He includes his fisheye lens for unique shooting situations.)
