From Saloon to Lagoon — a Tiki Vacation for Your Imagination

Regal Beagle Takeover at The Logger Bar with Fisherman Tiki Band
Friday, September 19, 2025 · Party starts 5:00 PM · Blue Lake, CA

Humboldt County, dust off your loudest aloha shirts and warm up those wagging tails: the Regal Beagle Takeover is bringing a tiki-meets-Wild-West party to the historic Logger Bar on Friday, Sept. 19—the perfect pre-game to North Country Fair weekend. Doors at 5:00 PM; costumes encouraged; shenanigans guaranteed.

For the uninitiated: the Regal Beagle was the iconic neighborhood bar on the hit 1970s sitcom Three’s Company—a cozy fern-bar with Tiffany lamps, dark wood, and plenty of sitcom mischief. We’re channeling that playful, retro spirit right here in Blue Lake for one unforgettable night.

The Music
5:00–6:00 PM — Fisherman Tiki Band: Led by internationally acclaimed vibraphonist Brian “Fisherman” Lease, a founding member of retro cool 90’s classic Frenchy and a 2016 Burlesque Hall of Fame Sassy Lassy Award honoree. Fisherman has graced stages from NYC cabarets to Las Vegas, London, and New Orleans, collaborating with icons like Tempest Storm, the Pontani Sisters, and Dirty Martini. Alongside percussionist/DJ Bridget “Birdie the Tiki Girl” McCracken, Fisherman Tiki Band delivers lush tiki exotica, psychedelic twists, and retro-futuristic lounge.

6:00–8:00 PM — Birdie the Tiki Girl DJ set: A vinyl-driven journey through Motown 45s, mid-century jazz, tropical exotica, ’70s disco, yacht rock, and electronic dance grooves—while Fisherman serves up his famous Porchetta sandwiches.

8:00–10:00 PM — Fisherman Tiki Band returns: Joined by special guest Marla Joy (Humboldt legend), the night crescendos into a full-on Humboldt dance floor celebration.

The Featured Bite — Larry’s Love Stack
Named for Three’s Company’s own Larry Dallas—the leisure-suited Casanova of the Regal Beagle—this porchetta sandwich is swagger in bread form. Larry’s Love Stack – Fisherman’s Porchetta Edition layers succulent, slow-roasted Italian-style pork—infused with garlic, rosemary, wild fennel pollen, cracked pepper, and Sicilian sea salt—into a fresh, locally baked roll from Brio in Arcata. Ethically sourced from Beeler’s Pork, this is a savory, juicy, crispy-edged knockout that’s sure to win Humboldt’s heart.

Costumes, Contests & Specials
Join in the Mrs. Roper Romp and wear your most outrageous kaftan.
Best Hawaiian Shirt Contest.
Themed drink specials.
Plenty of classic sitcom vibes—because this is a Regal Beagle party, after all.

About The Logger Bar
Established in 1889, Blue Lake’s Logger Bar is one of California’s oldest continuously operating watering holes, known for its vintage logging memorabilia, handcrafted cocktails, and local hospitality.

This year’s Regal Beagle Takeover carries extra resonance: organizer Bridget Bamber McCracken (Birdie the Tiki Girl) lived and worked at Dell’Arte in the late 1990s and early 2000s, touring alongside Michael Fields, then Managing Director of Dell’Arte and now proud owner of The Logger Bar. The event is a joyful homecoming that links Humboldt’s rich theatrical legacy with its vibrant live music scene.

Why Now?
It’s North Country Fair weekend—start the celebration Friday night in Blue Lake, then roll into Arcata Plaza on Saturday and Sunday for two days of art, music, parades, and Humboldt joy.

Fisherman is the alter ego of percussionist Brian Lease, a San Francisco–based vibraphonist who has been at the forefront of exotica, lounge, and neo-burlesque for nearly three decades. From his early days drumming in Southern California’s psychedelic punk scene to leading twisted retro projects like Frenchy (on Dionysus Records and Rob Zombie’s label) and Fisherman’s Tiki Trio, he’s built a reputation for fearless mash-ups of lounge, punk, Latin jazz, and psychedelic rock.

A major force in the neo-burlesque revival, Fisherman created Famous San Francisco Burlesque in 1997 and went on to lead bands for icons including Tempest Storm, the Pontani Sisters, Dirty Martini, and the World Famous BOB. His tiki-burlesque mash-up Love Luau became the longest-running show in Coney Island’s Burlesque at the Beach series. Fisherman has performed at burlesque and tiki festivals worldwide, composed for stage and film, and in 2016 was inducted into the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, receiving the Sassy Lassy Award for lifetime contribution to the art form.

Birdie the Tiki Girl is the vibrant alter ego of Bridget Bamber McCracken, a performer, producer, and DJ who has been enchanting tiki and burlesque audiences since 2016. As a featured member of Fisherman’s band, she has lit up stages at Tiki Oais and Tiki Caliente, the Coney Island Mermaid Parade after party, the grand opening of Zombie Village, and iconic tiki bars from The Imperial (Santa Barbara) to Kon-Tiki (Oakland).

Beyond the stage, Birdie is the Managing Director of Trash Mash-Up, a community arts nonprofit known for colorful, eco-conscious celebrations across the U.S. and internationally. Her career began at the Dell’Arte Company, where she stage-managed and performed in more than 20 original productions that toured nationally and abroad.

As a DJ, Birdie spins everything from vintage Motown 45s and mid-century exotica to ’70s disco, yacht rock, and modern electronic dance grooves. With her vinyl collection and live mixing skills, she seamlessly shifts from sophisticated cocktail hour to high-energy dance floor—making her a magnetic force behind both the bandstand and the decks.
