June is all about Kurt Vonnegut thanks to the Granfalloon (& Bloomington Handmade Market) put on by IU Arts and Humanities!! (If you don't know about the Vonnegut themed week in Bloomington, you should definitely look into it!) Nevertheless, we want to be part of it, and so, we're having a Vonnegut Themed Group Show!
Anything Vonnegut is a go! From Wikipedia :
Kurt Vonnegut (/ˈvɒnəɡət/ VON-ə-gət; November 11, 1922 – April 11, 2007) was an American author known for his satirical and darkly humorous novels.[1] His published work includes fourteen novels, three short-story collections, five plays, and five nonfiction works over fifty-plus years; further works have been published since his death.
This year's book for Granfalloon happens to be Cat's Cradle - so take that as inspo as well!!
Submissions are due by Friday, May 9th! I prefer your pieces be COMPLETE upon submission. If you are selected to show, your piece will be due at Gather no later than May 23rd -- early drop-offs are encouraged.
We are accepting submissions for both 2-D and 3-D pieces. The show opening will be Friday, June 6th from 5-8pm and we would Love for you to be present! The Bloomington Handmade Market and Granfalloon will follow on June 7th!
You may submit more than once piece - as many as you like actually. Please submit a separate submission for each piece you would like to submit. We operate on a consignment basis when and if a piece sells. That means if a piece sells, we take a 40% cut of the sale. You set the cost of the piece of art. You take a 60% cut. Please set your prices accordingly.
Pieces will need to be picked back up the first week of July.
