⛽ Route Details & Highlights (via Historic Route 66)
1. Starting Point: 10am at Route 66 Association of Illinois 110 W Howard St Pontiac, Illinois — home to the Route 66 Hall of Fame & Museum and those iconic murals and shield signs  .
2. Head South at 10:30 am on Historic Route 66:
• You’ll drive through towns like Cayuga and Chenoa, where preserved segments of the original road and vintage bridges still remain  .
• Enjoy the Route 66 “Memory Lane” trail near Towanda, a 2.5 mi stretch with exhibits and classic Burma-Shave signs—great for some scenic stops .
• Towanda also features the memorable “Dead Man’s Curve”—an evocative, historic turn along the Mother Road .
3. Approaching Bloomington/NORMAL:
• Route 66 once ran directly through downtown Bloomington–Normal and later shifted to an eastern bypass, both offering unique historic perspectives   .
4. Your Final Destination: Lil Beaver Brewery, located at 5 Finance Drive, Bloomington—a welcoming brewpub known for its rotating beers, tasty food (cheese curds, birria tacos!), gaming room, and dog-friendly patio
