Join the Central Illinois Chapter of the ACLU of Illinois and the Student Chapter of the ACLU of Illinois at Illinois State University for Protecting Free Expression and a Free Press on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Illinois Wesleyan University. The hybrid event is designed to explore how best to protect free expression and press freedom when they are increasingly coming under political attack. The event will feature a panel discussion followed by audience questions and answers.

The Fall Election for our Chapter's Steering Committee Members will be conducted immediately before the panel. The slate of Steering Committee members who are standing for re-election for 2026 - 2027 term will be named and the vote will be called. All ACLU members in good standing (dues paid) who currently live in McLean, Livingston, or DeWitt counties in Illinois may vote.
