Otherwhere – Concert at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater

On the program:

Gabriela Ortiz described her work Antrópolis “as the sonorous reflection of a city through its experiences…in this very complex but fascinating Mexico City.”

Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Opus 25 (1st movement) featuring Youth Concerto Competition winner Solar Manley

Amy Beach’s Gaelic Symphony pays tribute, in her own words, to the “simple, rugged, and unpretentious beauty” of traditional Irish folksongs.
