Tournament Rules
1. CERTIFICATION: This tournament is sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and as such is governed strictly by the rules and regulations of that organization.
2. ENTRY FEE: $20 entry fee to enter the singles portion of the tournament prior to the day of. Walk in entries will be assessed an additional $5 fee. Breakdown for the entry fee as follows:
Linage- $12.75
Prize Fund - $7.25
3. AGE DIVISIONS: will be as follows: U10, U12, U15, U18. All ages will be as of 08-01-2025.
U10 Division: 8/1/2016 or later
U12 Division: 8/1/2013-7/31/2016
U15 Division: 8/1/2010-7/31/2013
U18 Division: 8/1/2007-7/31/2010
4. All optional teams will be made up of 2 bowlers. Teams must consist of youth bowlers who are certified members of the GBUSBC Association. The age of the oldest bowler will determine the division the team competes in.
5. All shifts are 3 games.
5. ENTRIES: Must submit averages from a GBUSBC certified league in the following manner:
a. Highest average from 2024-2025 season (21 games or more)
b. If no previous season average, highest league average of at least 3 weeks (9 games) in the current season as of date of bowling.
c. If neither applies the bowler shall bowl scratch.
7. If any participant is found to be ineligible under the rules of this tournament, the entire team will be disqualified.
8. No entry will be accepted unless the total fees accompany the entry form. Make checks payable to GBUSBC. $40.00 fee for any returned checks.
9. No entry will be refunded after the team has begun bowling.
10. All play and awards will be on a handicap basis. Handicap will be 90% of 220 for all divisions.
a) If bowler average exceeds the division average, that bowler will bowl scratch.
11. Award ratio will be at least 1 in 4.
12. Multiple participation (reentries) will be allowed, bowler may only cash once per division, and may only cash with the same optional doubles partner once.
13. No added prize money will be applied to optional events.
14. Scholarships will be awarded to all winning bowlers. All award fund money will be returned 100%.
15. All bowlers should check in 1/2 hour prior to squad time if possible.
16. LATE ENTRIES: Day of tournament entries will be permitted as space allows up to 30 minutes prior to squad time, with a $5.00 late entry fee. We strongly recommend early entry sign ups.
17. No pacers will be allowed.
18. If a duly scheduled entrant is unable to bowl, a substitute will be allowed. A substitute must be placed in the proper division. Once a substitute has been placed, it will stand, and no further changes are allowed.
19. All substitutes accompanied by properly signed average certificates must be reported to Tournament Manager 1 hour prior to scheduled time. Substitutions made due to emergency are subject to approval of Tournament Manager.
20. In the event of a tie, a roll-off will not occur, rather both teams will receive an award.
21. The action of the Tournament Officials will be final unless an appeal is made in accordance with Rule 329. Protests must be made before Tournament awards are presented.
22. No one is permitted to eat or drink in the bowling area. No tobacco or alcohol is to be used in the Tournament area by anyone. Only bowlers and Tournament management are allowed in the bowling area.
23. Use of any foreign substance such as talcum powder or moistening of shoe sole surface is strictly prohibited.
24. All score keepers shall be provided by GBUSBC Association.
25. DRESS CODE: Bowlers must wear a collared shirt or a bowling center T-shirt. No headwear of any kind will be allowed. No improper wording, symbols, etc. are to be displayed. All cell phones and electronic devices are to be silenced.
26. 10 minutes of practice will be given before Tournament play begins.
27. All 2024-2025 USBC playing rules will be enforced.
