Professional climber Emily Harrington has summited Everest, 8000-meter peaks, and dominated the competition circuit, but her greatest challenge extends beyond the physical.
With coaching, mentoring and support from Alex Honnold (FREE SOLO), and interviews with her closest friend, Hilaree Nelson (who tragically passed during a 2022 expedition), audiences will be on the edge of their seat with stunning cinematography, soul-exposing interviews, and gravity defying climbing footage.
Caught between the pursuit of personal ambition and the ticking biological clock of life, a near-fatal fall forces Emily to reckon with what she’s willing to risk. Directed by Jon Glassberg, this 83-minute documentary describes how Emily Harrington’s life and two-decade-long climbing career culminated in one audacious goal: to become the first woman to free climb Golden Gate (5.13b) on El Capitan in a day. Stymied by exhaustion, hailstorms, rope burns, mental fortitude, and sometimes one single move, Harrington persists through four attempts on the route in 2019 and 2020.
