Who should participate:
• Training in DDP is relevant to all adults who work with, support or look after children who have experienced early-life trauma. This includes but is not limited to therapists, social workers, educationalists, adoptive and foster parents and residential caregivers. (Training is limited to 12 total participants.)
Participants will:
• Gain a foundational understanding of attachment theory and developmental trauma
• Learn the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and how to apply it clinically
• Explore the impact of toxic shame and strategies for repair
• Develop practical tools for strengthening parent–child communication
• Understand Blocked Care and the role of parent-only sessions
• Learn how caregivers, foster parents, adoptive parents, and residential staff support healing
Completion of this training qualifies participants as Level One Trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
