Talk: SAS The Great Train Raid

Revealing the untold story of one of the War’s most secret wartime missions – the raid to liberate Pisticci in southern Italy in 1943, the first concentration camp discovered by the Allies. The raid involved the hijacking of a train by the SAS, driving through 100 kilometres of enemy territory and using the train to move out hundreds of concentration camp prisoners.

Damien Lewis, in conversation with Bletchley Park's Dr David Kenyon, will discuss his new book and how the SAS and other organisations worked successfully together to save thousands of WW2 prisoners of war, often undercover behind enemy lines, and how these operations were never recognised.
