Come along to our next meeting and enjoy a flower show, a talk from Mat Murray and a welcoming morning tea while making new friends who share your love of gardens and great conversation.
We are truly delighted to have Mat Murray join us, he is a horticulturist with 30 years’ experience at the Royal Botanic Gardens, based at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden.
He has a particular passion for cold climate bulbs, especially Crocus, and has travelled extensively through Europe and North Africa to observe these plants both in the wild and in cultivation. Mat has shared his expertise locally and internationally, drawing on his travels and his experience growing bulbs in his garden at Blackheath.
In this presentation, Mat will take us to the Taurus Mountains, exploring the diverse plant life of the region, with a special focus on its remarkable bulbs. His talk will also delve into the rich culture and people of this fascinating part of the world.
