Chet Set should have been a one-off performance. However, the demand that followed band leader and frontman Pete Tanton's performance of the 1956 album Chet Baker Sings with the house band at Gateshead Central bar meant they couldn't just leave it there. They have since grown into a hugely popular ensemble in the region and now tour nationally.
