We have the pleasure of presenting two of our brilliant local authors. Eileen Wharton and FE Birch
Eileen Wharton is a rat catcher, a professional cuddler, and Influencer. She also tells lies for a living!
Born and raised in Bishop Auckland, her first novel was published in 2011 to worldwide critical acclaim. And she’s won awards for exaggeration. It did top the Amazon humour chart so she’s officially a best-selling author.
She currently has five ‘lively’ offsprings ranging from thirty-seven to eighteen years of age, and has no plans to procreate further, much to the relief of the local schools and police force.
She writes crime novels, women’s fiction and children’s books. She is hearing impaired, is allergic to cats and has a phobia of tinned tuna. She’s semi-retired from arguing with people on the internet.
F.E. Birch, an ex-cop from the North East of England has now turned to crime herself. She has published short stories, crime novels, and a collection of Criminal Poetry, under a trail of pseudonyms. In 2012, she won the inaugural Bloody Scotland Pitch Perfect competition with the premise for her debut novel, She’s Not There. She is also that undercover cop, Ash Cameron.
Her friends call her Effie and she wears many hats. Her crimes are dark, deep, and disturbing, and very rarely cosy. She can be found on most social media platforms as Effie Merryl.

We will learn what inspires them, what motivates them and top tips on carrying out the perfect murder ( well that bit is embellished but you never know)
We will be serving charcuterie boards with a glass of wine of your choice.
