Experience the finest brass bands from across the UK and beyond as they compete for the coveted title, showcasing breathtaking musicality, precision, and passion.

The British Open is the oldest and most prestigious brass band contest in the world where the very best bands compete to win its famous Gold Shield Trophy playing to a packed audience at Symphony Hall and a global live broadcast audience.

The 2025 test piece is an exciting new work by renowned British composer and arranger Stephen Roberts. ‘Star Crossed Lovers’ makes its premiere performance at Symphony Hall and is inspired by the classic love story Romeo and Juliet.
