Midland Counties Hub AGM & a Technical Talk on Forensic Engineering

The evening will start with the Midland Counties Hub AGM, followed by a technical presentation.

The technical talk will explain the role of a forensic engineer, from what is involved to why it is required. The talk will look at how a forensic engineer approaches an investigation, and how this can differ from what is done in the design office. And lastly the talk will examine common themes, using examples to explain what goes wrong from a technical and non-technical perspective.

After 25 years in industry delivering civil and structural engineering projects, Jon moved into the field of specialist forensic engineering in 2022. Jon has been appointed as named expert, or assisting an expert, on a range of disputes covering a wide variety of issues such as disputed design liability, coordination issues, materials/specifications defects, alleged poor workmanship, and construction defects. Jon serves on the Examinations Panel for IStructE, and is a Reviewer for ICE.
