BLITZED IN BIRMINGHAM is the first in a series of regional live music events around the country, brought to you by the partnership of Blitzed Magazine and AbNormal Productions. It’s a celebration of music derived from and inspired by the legendary Blitz Club in London. We bring you iconic artists from the New Romantic era, alongside emerging local talents inspired by the Blitz spirit.
On Saturday 13th September, at Birmingham’s iconic music venue The Flapper, known for championing incredible live music, we present three exciting acts.
B-MOVIE: An exclusive performance in the West Midlands, you can experience the iconic goth-fuelled electro-rock band performing tracks from their previously ‘lost’ 1982 debut album Hidden Treasures, with the classic singles ‘Nowhere Girl’, ‘Marilyn Dreams’ and ‘Remembrance Day’ and music from their fantastic back catalogue. Finally unearthed from the vaults of Universal Music, see the songs performed how they were meant to be heard.
THE RUDE AWAKENING: Performing the classic 1980s new romantic, new wave and electronic songs synonymous with the Blitz Club era, the music that shaped a decade, together with a handful of original synthpop numbers to get you dancing.
HAHA HATS: Birmingham’s own alternative electro-funksters perform their eclectic ‘warped pop music’ with a sense of mischief.
For the Blitzed in Birmingham event doors are at 7pm, but The Flapper is open from 2pm, so feel free to arrive early and take advantage of their fabulous food and drink offerings before the music starts. This is going to be a fantastic live music event.
