Anti-racism Poster Making Workshop

Join us for Poster Power, the second creative workshop in Under the Same Sky – Centrala’s anti-racism campaign rooted in creativity, collective action, and care.

Inspired by the bold visual language of protest posters and grassroots movements, this session invites participants to design their own anti-racist posters using collage, paint, text, and striking imagery. We'll look at historical and contemporary examples of resistance art, then work individually and collectively to create posters that speak truth, demand justice, and amplify voices too often ignored.

This workshop will be facilitated by Magdalena Kij, an artist with activist qualities – an “artivist” from the Polish diaspora. Her multidisciplinary work spans performance, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, books, banners, and music. She explores themes of migration, displacement, alienation, and self-determination, while highlighting social issues such as poverty, injustice, and systemic oppression. As a Community Connector supporting Central and Eastern European communities in Manchester through art and well-being, Magdalena brings passion, purpose, and deep community insight into every project.

Whether you want to make a bold political statement, explore personal experiences, or simply learn new creative techniques – this workshop is for you. Your poster could become part of a wider display during our campaign activities.

Open to people of all backgrounds, identities, and ages who want to use creativity to challenge racism and inspire change.

No experience necessary. All materials provided. All ages welcome.
