DPIRD Fisheries are looking forward to introducing you to the joys of sustainable recreational fishing a relaxed local setting that gives timeout to check in and catch up.

Fishing isn’t just a hobby—it’s a chance to unwind, connect, and really listen to each other. A conversation over a fishing line can be a powerful way to check in and support one another. We invite you to come join us to see how fishing can form lifelong friendships, spark a lifestyle passion and simply enjoy a great day by the water's edge.

What to Expect:

Learn the basics of fishing in a supportive and engaging environment, with the added opportunity to start important conversations about mental health with your friends. All fishing equipment will be provided—just bring a smile and suitable fishing attire. No prior experience is needed! Each participant will take home a free rod/reel combo and a great goodies bag to ensure you can continue to experience the joys of fishing and the relaxed lifestyle it offers.

Important Information:Bookings Essential: Places are limited, so be sure to book a spot for both you and your mate.

Food Allergy Warning: Shellfish (prawns) may be used as bait. If you have a shellfish allergy, please consider if you can safely participate.

Note: While we love kids, this event is centered around connecting with friends and engaging in deep, meaningful conversations, including discussions about mental health. To fully participate and check in with your mate, please arrange alternative care for your little ones.
