ICE OUT OF BROOME COUNTY!!!
Free Guan Heng and All ICE Detainees!
RISE UP RALLY: Dec 31st Broome County Jail
Hundreds of persons captured by ICE have been incarcerated in the Broome County Jail this year. In the past weeks local and international media and protests have focused on prominent Chinese protester Guan Heng while Long Island newspapers and teachers focus on demanding the release of a teenage high school student. Unknown and hidden, scores of local farm workers, roofers, landscapers, construction workers and small business folks among others have been incarcerated at county expense. The public is outraged.
Community organizations will be holding a press conference rally at the time of Guan Heng's bail hearing, 8:30 am Dec 31st. Friends and family of ICE detainees will testify, demanding freedom for their loved ones--and an end to Broome County support and funding for ICE operations.
