Join us for our 2nd trip to Leatherwood off road park in Kentucky! Leatherwood is one of the newest parks in the USA and the largest in Kentucky with over 50,000 acres and 300+ miles of trails. We will be camping in the mountain valley again, about 4 minutes from the park general store, and new this year HOT SHOWERS AND BATHROOMS.
The camping area is completely off grid with no electrical, but is accessible by your tow rig.
The trails are absolutely magnificent, showcasing the finest landscapes in the Appalachian mountains. Rugged and rocky trails, river crossings in hollers, soaring climbs to scenic outlooks and an abundance of nature.
The trails ratings are much different than Michigan. For rough comparison, a green trail at leatherwood is roughly equivalent to a green/blue in Michigan. A blue trail at leatherwood will be harder than anything Michigan has on public lands, with climbs, rocky ledges, off camber, larger boulders, and more.
Black trails should not be done solo, if you don't have at least a rear locker and winch don't try them. 33s possible, 35s recommended.
We will be splitting into groups based on desired trail difficulty again. If you would like to volunteer as a trail lead please include that in your sign up email as well.

As always MST does not charge any fee for the trip, leatherwood will be giving us a discounted camping rate, i believe about the same as last year. (40 for the weekend per truck) regular park rates are in effect for trail passes.
