Want to learn how to make delicious, healthy sourdough?
This course, which is suitable for baking novices, is an introduction to the sourdough process, including maintaining starters, types of flour, tools and equipment, mixing, folding, fermenting, shaping and baking.
You will gain a basic understanding of the sourdough process and the knowledge to bake a simple loaf and to experiment at home.
The course will be taught by Simon Leworthy, head baker at an artisan micro-bakery based in Hartland. The H’artisan Bakery specialises in long-proofed, cold-fermented sourdough breads made using the finest organic flours available from around the world. www.thehartisanbakery.co.uk
What we will provide:
lunch and refreshments, bread and a recipe and instructions to take home
Tickets:
£95 for the day, including lunch
£45 for a baking kit to take home. The kit includes a cane banneton/brotform, Pyrex Dutch oven, dough scraper, starter, thermometer and lame (a tool that helps control the expansion of the loaf as it bakes)
You can bring your own kit, if you already have the above items. A list will be provided on the order confirmation form.
