On behalf of the Davenport Association of Professional Fire Fighters – Local 17, it is with heavy hearts
that we ask for your support for a young family facing the unimaginable.
Brooks, the 2-year-old son of one of our members, was first diagnosed with cancer this past spring.
Despite surgery and treatment, the cancer has since spread throughout his brain and spine. Sadly, there
is no cure. As his parents prepare for the unthinkable, they are also burdened with mounting medical
expenses.
Brooks’ father is a proud member of the Davenport Firefighters Local 17 Union. As one of our own, we
are asking the community to come together in support of the Downing Family. While no gift can ease
their heartbreak, your generosity can help lift some of the financial weight during this painful time.
In support of the Downing Family, Davenport Local 17 will be hosting a fundraising event on October
25th, featuring raffle and silent auction items. We respectfully request your support through the
donation of an item, gift card, merchandise, or financial contribution. Every donation received will
directly benefit the Downing Family.
Please let us know if you are able to participate or if there are specific requirements for coordinating
your donation. We will gladly work with your team to make the process as seamless as possible. You may
