Sukkot is a week long Hebrew holiday that celebrates the gathering of the harvest and dwelling in a foliage-covered tabernacle (known as a sukkah) starting on the 5 days following the end of Yom Kippur.
Our beautiful community Sukkah will be built in the center of the field. Anyone is welcome to come and join in. More specific times will be announced at a later date.
Families will set up their tents or campers to camp on the field surrounding the Sukkah. Once settled in, you will enjoy fellowship with song under the full moon lit sky as we remember and celebrate the birth of Yeshua (Jesus).
Throughout the 7 day celebration, there are fun and enlightening activities, classes & workshops, from learning to tie Tzitzit, to children’s crafts. Early risers will experience the blessing of a small prayer gathering where we will be waving the “lulav” at sunrise, Rabbi Peter will explain the significance of this Hebrew tradition and share a brief word followed by a quiet time of reflection and prayer.
In the evening, you may snuggle under a blanket around the crackling fire and enjoy the gentle strum of a guitar... or perhaps you will prefer munching on popcorn at Sukkah movie night. Some people just love to “tent hop” and visit everyone around the camp, as Ad-nai instructs us to bring what our heart desires and more to share with those who have less than us.
At the end of the festival, on the 8th day (Tuesday, October 14th), we celebrate “Simchat Torah” (The Rejoicing of the Word).
It is the end and then reset of the annual Scripture reading cycle. All are welcome to experience the blessing of helping to roll the Torah Scroll from Deuteronomy 34:12 back to Genesis 1:1
Everyone is invited to come and celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles & Simchat Torah.
Come and camp out for the entire 8 days, or a weekend, or just come and visit for the day. There is a cost for overnight campers.
