Built for polar exploration and classified as an Ice Breaker, in the past year the Sikuliaq has operated above the arctic circle, in the Chukchi Sea, and as far south as the equator. Learn more about life aboard a research vessel, facilitating scientific endeavours in challenging environments, storms on the ocean, and the realities of living in close quarters with crew mates for long periods of time. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou: Internationally famous oceanographer Steve Zissou and his crew, Team Zissou, set sail on an expedition to hunt down the mysterious, elusive, and possibly nonexistent Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou’s partner during the documentary filming of their latest adventure.
