Celebrating National Inclusion Week 2025: How We Can Help Accomodate Invisible Disabilities in Our Community

Did you know that up to 90% of disabilities are invisible? Join us for an eye-opening talk by nationally recognized keynote speaker, Thor Uram, who will use his personal journey with multiple sclerosis to shed light on invisible disabilities. Discover why awareness matters and learn tangible ways our community can become more inclusive and supportive. This talk is a chance to learn, ask questions, and become an ally. Free and open to all.

Talk Content:
● What is an invisible disability?
● What are some examples of invisible disabilities?
● Lived Example: My multiple sclerosis as an example of an invisible disability.
● Why is it important to strive to become more accommodating of invisible disabilities?
● What can we do as a community to help raise awareness and become allies?

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this keynote, attendees will be able to:
● Know the definition of an invisible disability as defined by the Invisible Disabilities Association.
● Be able to identify and describe to others several types of invisible disabilities.
● Recognize public situations where you can actively participate in respecting invisible disabilities.
● Ways you can help your community become more inclusive to those with invisible disabilities.

Post Event Q&A:
Afterwards, attendees will be able to engage directly with Thor in an audience-driven, unscripted dialogue concerning any afterthoughts or questions.
