This workshop in making a crystal sun catcher wind chime is meant to bring balance into our daily lives. Visualizing the organic elements like crystal, driftwood and beads will remind us that these various materials create the earth's environment. In adding a chime or bell that will ring to bring our attention to it, also will clarify our mind. As the crystal reflects rays of light, it will visually connect us with the purifying light within us.The session is led by local artist Mary Cody and will last 1 hour. Each participant will choose materials for making a personalized sun catcher chime. They will choose from an array of ceramic beads, weathered wood, crystals and attach them together with wire. All materials are included. This experience will bring balance and grounding and could make a meaningful gift to a friend to bring them along and share this experience together.

About Mary Cody:

Nature inspires her creative spirit through different forms of media and design. For 15 years she has collected discarded jewelry to repurpose into new earrings and necklaces under The Jewelry Tree brand. Her bead collection has grown into creating wind chimes to dance in the wind. She is intrigued by nature’s ability to calm and focus the mind by connecting us to our senses.

Her work includes other forms of the natural world in Terrarium workshops at the Tower Hill Botanical Gardens, libraries and schools. She is involved with seasonal designs at the new West Street Tavern in Berlin. She hopes these ideas encourage sensitivity to our amazing natural environment in repurposing, reusing and restoring what we already have before us.
