Let's Walk - Intro to the Natural History of Marsworth Reservoirs & Canals
Thursday 27th November at 10.30am to 12.30pm
Duration: 2 miles/2 hours
Start point and end: Marsworth/Startop’s End Reservoirs Car Park (Postcode HP23 4LJ; What3Words reprints.mulled.lanes) next to WatersEdge Café.
Car Park cost is £3 for 3 hours, £4 all day.
The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by volunteer walk leaders who are full of interesting information about the local area.
Please join us for a fun leisurely walk along the canal. You'll learn a lot and meet new people!
A short walk for wellbeing as an introduction to Marsworth canals & reservoirs. This walk of approximately 2 miles over a maximum of 2 hours will provide an introduction to the natural environment of the area (covering birdlife, flora, fauna, lichens); and industrial heritage. The health benefits and science behind walking will also be covered.
Main points:
* Dogs on leads permitted
* There will be steps and uneven terrain
* Stout shoes and suitable clothing, eg a waterproof jacket. It can be breezy on the higher reservoir section.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining.
