NB! We are aiming never playing too loud, especially in an intime café like Sanaa, we also want people to talk comfortably. Instead we give enough depth of sound to the mix. We know that exceeding a certain volume may lead to tinnitus and the severe consequences of this the rest of ones life, and the guests health has our highest priority. If you anyway still think the volume is too high please give us a notice there and then. It is a fine balance hitting the right spot of enough sound not yet exceeding the limit, as the audience always have different needs here . We give priority to those in a risk zone. We also never use a mic due to the risk of feed.
DJ Charanga (Eirik Storebø) is a dedicated salsa cubana DJ and dancer. He has played at SalsaNor Rueda Congress, Minibailando, Bailan2purCubano, Nordic Salsa Experience as well as DJing together with DJMojito including a concert with Charanga Habanera. He is known as a timba expert with a critical ear , handpicking only the very best tunes also with comfy tempi for dancing . He did start Timba Night in Bergen back in 2006 . He has strongly contributed to the interest for this cuban genre among dancers in Bergen. He is recently booked as DJ at Dance Festival in Kristiansand in January 2026.
DJ Håvard is a professional musician with long career within classical, jazz, latin. He is employed as a trombonist in the Norwegian Navy Band in Bergen as well as being a member of Bergen Big Band and regular guest with Cubanero. Being a dedicated salsa dancer for many years, he has recently started DJing, playing frequently at Sanaa. He handpicks the best music among newer, varied salsa, son, mambo, bachata and also kizomba when asked, and uses his musical ear adjusting the soundmix and volume to the perfect on every tune . He is DJ host at Sanaas monthly salsa matinees, where he will present all-new playlists and also invite guest DJs in various genre each time
