Elevate Your Teaching: Integrate Pain Science and Somatics into Yin Yoga with Mandy Ryle
Yin & Somatics Teacher training led by Mandy Ryle ERYT 500, CSCS, Certified Pain Care Aware, is a 45 Hour Yoga Alliance Approved immersion. Delivered in two modules, this training provides the theory, the science and the practical application required to lead Yin Yoga classes to diverse populations.
Module I:
(Included in tuition price) Fully online and on demand. This portion of training takes about 12 hours to complete and is a prerequisite to the in person Module II. It’s common to hear bold claims within the yin-sphere about targeting connective tissue and harmonizing our energy via meridians. But what is connective tissue, how can it be isolated and what does it mean to focus on a specific energy channel within the body. Module I gives you an easy to digest but comprehensive understanding of the composition and behaviour of the tissues that we are influencing in Yin Yoga. Armed with knowledge you will set yourself apart as a Yin teacher, but also in the other formats that you teach. This module also provides an overview of the traditional Yin postures as well as common and not so common variations and pose hybrids to keep your teaching fresh and original.
Module II:
An in person immersion. Now it’s time to learn to apply the knowledge that you learned in Module I to diverse bodies with strengths, limitations and preferences. We discuss the nervous system as a foundation for our work and learn how to help students feel safe and empowered in practice. We also do a breakdown of the pose categories, learn sequencing and theming models to learn skills to help you to plan and execute truly transformative sessions for your community of students. Peer support and masterclass style workshopping will leave you feeling well prepared to share this powerful practice.
This training also includes additional instruction in somatic education. Somatic education is an exciting and versatile addition to all of your class formats. Learn how to encourage somatic sovereignty in your students using a simple framework for targeting the somatic nervous system as a foundation for comfortable, pain free movement.
This training goes well beyond just the poses and meridians. It’s for teachers who strive for a depth of knowledge. Teachers who are ready to make an impact much deeper than a good stretch. So many of your students arrive with limitations which can leave you feeling like you don’t have the tools to help them in class. As a pain care coach utilizing these techniques with clients and groups, Mandy will show you how to not only manage these diverse challenges, but embrace them with confidence.
