Join Flora 4 Fauna - Australia for a FREE Walk & Talk exploring the fascinating world of native Australian bushfoods, medicinal plants, fauna attractors, and utility trees.
This event is perfect for anyone passionate about biodiversity and sustainable gardening!
🌱 What You'll Learn:
Discover the wide variety of edible and useful native plants of South-East Queensland and Northern NSW.
Learn about their traditional and modern applications, conservation status, and health benefits.
Explore the vital host relationships between these plants and native wildlife like birds, bees, and butterflies.
Gain practical tips for integrating these plants into your own garden or lifestyle.
🗺️ Meeting Point: Carpark near the Wallum/Banksia Woodland section of the gardens (between the 'Feature Lake' and Lake Rosser).
🧳 What to Bring:
- Sunhat.
- Sunglasses.
-Sunscreen.
- Insect repellent.
- Comfortable clothing.
- Closed walking shoes.
- Light raincoat or small umbrella (just in case).
- Water bottle (1-2 litres recommended).
- Camera (optional but great for capturing moments!).
- Cash for native plant purchases.
🌟 Native Plant Sale:
Take home a selection of native bushfoods and medicinal plants to start your own biodiverse garden! Plants will be available for $6 each (cash only).
🚶♂️ Important Note:
This walk is suitable for those with a moderate fitness level and involves walking approximately 2-3 km. Toilets, water refill stations, and picnic areas are available throughout the gardens.
