Last beer before Paradise
Join Bendigo Brewing’s Evan Hunter and brewing industry veterans Willie Simpson and Catherine Stark of the recently-closed Seven Sheds Brewery for an evening of beer, pizza and conversation, hosted by Will Ziebell.
Nearly seventeen years ago, Willie and Catherine took a punt on an enthusiastic young home brewer and gave Evan his first ever brewing job at their recently-opened brewery, the first in Tasmania’s North-West and one of just a handful in Tasmania at the time. While Seven Sheds may now be closed, its spirit lives on in Evan’s approach to beer production. In tribute to the Seven Sheds legacy, Bendigo Brewing’s Bendigo on the Hop festival beer has been modelled on Seven Sheds’ flagship, English-inspired ‘Kentish Ale’. Taste the two beers side-by-side: the tribute for the first time, and the original for the last time. Strictly limited to 20 tickets.
Your ticket includes:
Last-ever tasting of Seven Sheds’ Kentish Ale
A sneak preview of Bendigo Brewing’s tribute festival beer, cask-conditioned and served on hand pump
A beer paddle with 4x200mL tasters of Bendigo Brewing’s other beers
Woodfired pizza and snacks
A meandering and interactive chat about open fermentation, building breweries out of scrap metal, and 17 years’ worth of reflection and anecdotes
