Movie Screening: “GAZA FIGHTS FOR FREEDOM”

In honor of the "International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People," Oregonian filmmaker and journalist Abby Martin, who banned from entering Gaza by the Israeli occupation authorities, collaborated remotely with a team situated within the besieged Gaza to obtain raw footage of the "Great March of Return." These peaceful series of protests in 2018 tragically led to hundreds of Palestinian casualties and injuries in just a few hours.

The documentary "Gaza Fights for Freedom," which runs for 74 minutes, tells the story of Gaza's history and current situation (as of 2018). It includes rare archival footage and infographics that help clarify a complicated history and the ongoing siege (as of 2018). The film presents first-hand accounts from victims of the continuous massacre, including journalists, medics, and families, to provide essential context about the colonial Zionist occupation and the Palestinian struggle for liberation.
