“In Eventually a Sequoia, Jeremy Collins tackles big issues in a deceivingly simple way--direct, tight, and immersive storytelling balanced by his killer art, which brings a warmth and deeper understanding to these heavy topics. Incredible.” -Jeremy Jones / Founder, Protect Our Winters

Based on Jeremy Collins’ extensive, art-filled travel journals, Eventually a Sequoia is part memoir, part manifesto. Collins, already highly regarded as an artist and climber, was invited to bring his sketchbook on a new kind of adventure: documenting the experiences of those who live along the endangered Amazon River. From there, his art and his curiosity took him to other endangered corners of the world, including the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the mountains of Nepal, Bears Ears National Monument, and the soaring redwoods of California.

Collins’s art-based storytelling captures these experiences in visceral form, from the wonder of passing caribou to the terror of a venomous snakebite. Through it all, he profiles the "sequoias" he meets--people whose small seeds produce enormous results, like explorer and film director Céline Cousteau, community organizer and educator Prem Kunwar, Ancient Forest Society founder Wendy Baxter, and more.

Eventually a Sequoia is an inspirational and vivid exploration of the natural world and how it can empower an individual to grow, change, heal, and thrive.

Jeremy Collins is an artist, climber, and conservation activist. His complex, cerebral, and whimsical drawings and maps have been featured in books, films, and commercial work. From the cover of National Geographic to his award-winning book Drawn: The Art of Ascent, he is a driving force in the outdoor industry. As an activist, he donates his time, voice, and work to causes he believes in. As an athlete, Collins puts up first ascent climbs around the globe and directs a world-renowned 24-hour climbing competition called Horseshoe Hell. He lives in Kansas City, MO and Running Springs, CA. Visit Jeremy online at jercollins.com, on Instagram @jer.collins and Facebook @jeremycollinsart.

His awards include the 2020 Piolet d’Or, 2016 Cutting Edge Award for Excellence in Alpine Climbing, 2014 Piolet d’Or Top 5 Finalist, and 2010 New Zealand Alpinist of the Year. Dedicated to using his platform for good, he holds leadership roles in a range of nonprofits and outdoor companies, including Dirtroad Organizing and Protect Our Winters.
