We’re thrilled to share that Derby Poetry Festival CIC, supported by Central Co-op Membership, is bringing five free in-person workshops to Ripley, Derbyshire.
Join us for the first workshop, which will be led by poet, producer and Derby Poetry Festival Co-Director, Aoife O'Connor.
Sessions will take place at Central Co-op Food & Cafe, Derby Road, Ripley, on Thursday, 9th October, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a short break in the middle.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or this is your first time attending a workshop, you're welcome to join. This session is for participants 16+.
All five workshops will have a similar format, including a warm-up, free write, an exercise to develop a craft, and writing time/prompt to put together a first draft. A guest facilitator will deliver some sessions, so whether you'd like to attend one or all, you will be able to create something new each time.
Participants will receive a goody bag of resources at their first session, which will include a notebook, tote bag, pencil, and book.
Sessions are free, but booking is essential.
Between September and November, DPF will deliver five workshops at Central Co-op Cafe - Derby Road, Ripley. These workshops will take place on a Thursday evening between 6 pm and 8 pm. We encourage participants aged 16 and above, regardless of their writing experience level, to join us.
These workshops are fun, generative and aim to get people involved in creativity. We'll explore different themes and topics, and at the end of each session, walk away with a draft of a poem or an idea for a piece of writing. Each workshop will be slightly different, and people are encouraged to attend one or all the sessions.
Join us in celebrating The Year of Cooperatives through free writing workshops.
