Mark your calendars! Wisconsin Science Festival is October 16-26, 2022! Join Welty Environmental Center at Big Hill Park on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1-3 PM to explore Wisconsin geology!

Have a special rock you'd like analyzed? Beloit College Geology students will be on site with special equipment to help identify your sample, along with special kid-friendly activities and break-your-own geodes you can take home!

Jim Rougvie, Beloit College Geology Professor, will lead an educational talk at the outcropping in Big Hill Park. Led by Jim Rougvie, Beloit College Geology Professor, take a guided hike through Big Hill Park at 2:00 to see fossils and stand on an ancient sea floor

The Wisconsin Science Festival aims to inspire and engage us in the enterprise of science and discovery, cultivate curiosity, communicate the power of knowledge and creativity to change our worldview, promote innovation, and cultivate the next generation of global citizens.
