Kids are deeply impacted in many ways when families experience substance use/co-occurring disorders! Often, they are searching for reasons this is happening, and they need to know they're not the cause of their parent's alcohol or drug addiction. They also need skills for making their own healthy choices. That's what we teach, and we make it fun!
Our award-winning Children's Program provides support, education and care to kids who grow up in a family with alcohol or other drug addiction. Children participate in programming over 2 consecutive days at our location in Bellevue, WA. Due to generous donors, there is no cost to participate in this program.
With guidance of highly trained counselors, children get to know one another through fun group activities. Through play and developmentally appropriate content kids will learn skills to talk about their emotions, be empowered to express themselves in healthy ways and connect with other kids in similar situations.
