Whether you're in public school, private school, or homeschool, you’re invited to enter the American Legion Oratorical Contest hosted by Al Krietemeyer Post 284.
🗣️ What’s it about?
A powerful speech contest focused on the U.S. Constitution and the duties of citizenship. You’ll compete locally, and winners advance to District, Area, State, and even National Finals!
💰 Scholarships Available at Every Level:
1st Level - Post Level: (Jan 8th, 2026)
o 1st Place: $75
o 2nd Place: $50
o 3rd Place: $25
2nd Level - District Level: (Jan 24th, 2026)
o 1st Place: $100
o 2nd Place: $75
o 3rd Place: $50
3rd Level - Area Level: $100 scholarship for all first round contestants who do not advance to State
o 1st Place: $125
o 2nd Place: $100
o 3rd Place: $75
4th Level - State Level: (March 14, 2026)
o 1st Place: $2,500
o 2nd Place: $1,500
o 3rd Place: $1,000
o 4th–6th Place: $500
4th Level - National Level: (May 15-17, 2026)
o 1st Place: $25,000
o 2nd Place: $22,500
o 3rd Place: $20,000
o Contestants who participate in the National Quarter-Final round competition receive $2,000.00. Contestants who participate in the National Semi-Final round competition receive an additional $2,000.00, except the winner who advances to the National Finals.
