Walk through living history — where ecology meets culture

Join us on a guided tour exploring ancient hollow trees, cultural connections, and the living heritage of the island’s natural and cultural landscape.

Step aboard for a unique half-day journey through Yarun’s living landscape. This guided bus tour visits significant trees that highlight the island’s natural and cultural heritage. Discover the ecological importance of ancient hollow-bearing trees—essential nesting sites for birds and other wildlife.

Then, gain insight into the cultural significance of trees to the Joondoburri people, Traditional Custodians of Yarun (Bribie Island). With stories and dances from elders and jarjums (young ones) of the Pumicestone Indigenous Education and Employment Council at significant sites, this tour offers a rare opportunity to see Bribie Island through a new lens.
