Welcome to PFN's Project IMPACC Community Update!
Join us for lunch and an update on PFN's Infrastructure for Michigan Peninsulas and Critical Crossings (IMPACC ) Project. Hear all about what we have been up to over the past year; including environmental and historical preservation activities, permitting, geotechnical investigation, hydrographic surveying, and developing specifications for our underwater fiber optic cable deployment.
Project IMPACC is funded in part by NTIA's Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program (MM). PFN was awarded an NTIA MM grant in July 2023 and 123NET is our partner on the project. We will be highlighting our activities for Route 2 - Gulliver to Beaver Island to Charlevoix to Gaylord, which includes an underwater fiber cable route and a terrestrial routes through un/underserved communities.
