About the event

HOUSTON - Part 1 Introduction to Canine Hydrotherapy
This NEW Introduction to Canine Hydrotherapy course is Part 1 of our Houston program for July 2025. The course includes online education and two attendance days with lectures, observation and hands-on practical training.

You may continue for a further three days with Part 2 covering canine gait and advanced underwater treadmill treatment and techniques.

Your pre-study is provided via Moodle, our online education platform. Practical training takes place at the fantastic K9 Health Centre in Houston where we have a long standing (over sixteen years) association with our training partner Sandra Wilson. She will be pleased to help with advice, travel information or any local queries – k9healthcenter.com

This course is suitable for anyone who would like to know more about canine hydrotherapy. This includes veterinary professionals plus those already working in canine hydrotherapy, who may not have formal training or qualifications, but would like to develop their knowledge and consider further study.

On-site practical training is also assisted by our colleagues at K9 Health Centre, Houston

Course cost US $525.00

This course is a blended learning course which includes online study plus two attendance days with lectures, observations and hands-on practical training.

We want you to be fully prepared so you gain the most from your practical training and we have provided a lot of online education material for you. Pre-study and successful completion of revision tests and quizzes is required prior to attendance for on-site practical training.

You should plan your study time carefully and allow a minimum of 8 weeks for study prior to attendance days. You should allow an average of 5-6 hours per week.

Pre hydrotherapy health checks.
Canine hydrotherapy pool observations and hands-on experience – you will join our canines in the pool
You will observe and join in with water treadmill sessions.
Feedback on your skills and areas for further study.

This is an introductory course and following completion you should not imply you are a qualified canine hydrotherapist. You will gain useful skills and insights, including whether canine hydrotherapy is a possible career choice for you. You will also be well prepared for further or more in-depth canine hydrotherapy study.
