Thinking about publishing your own book?
Self-publishing can be an excellent option for many books. It offers the fastest path to market, complete creative control, and full ownership of your intellectual property.
In this workshop, we’ll demystify the self-publishing process, step by step. You’ll learn what resources and budget you’ll need, who the key players and platforms are, and how to create an action plan to bring your book to life.
We’ll also tackle one of the biggest barriers to self-publishing—accountability—and explore strategies to stay motivated and on track.
Fran has guided many authors through successful self-publishing journeys, from shaping strategy to building detailed action plans and connecting them with the right people and platforms. She’ll share what she’s learned along the way so you leave not only informed, but ready to take the next steps toward publishing your book.
This workshop is geared toward adult fiction, nonfiction, workbooks, poetry, and gift books (including those with light illustrations). It is not designed for children’s books or coffee table books.
Limited to 12 participants.

Its runaway success formed the catalyst for her acclaimed thought-leadership platform. The follow-up workbook (2022, Collective Book Studio) has become the go-to curriculum for women’s affinity groups nationwide.
Fran’s publishing journey was so rewarding that she launched Bookbound, a podcast for nonfiction writers, which she co-hosts with friend and literary agent Bethany Saltman.
In December 2024, Fran opened Bedford Books, the first-ever bookstore in her hometown of Bedford, NY. The bookstore combines her passion for storytelling and community-building, allowing her to support and inspire readers and writers alike.
