History Around the Holidays at the Cloverlea Farmhouse

Step into history this holiday season at the Cloverlea Farmhouse! Join us for an afternoon celebrating the legacy of the Cloverlea Farm and the families who lived and worked the land over the years. Registration/tickets required
What to Expect:
🏠 Guided Farmhouse Tours every 30 minutes, beginning at the east wing kitchen door and flowing through the dining room, great room, buttermilk wing, and upstairs bedrooms before ending in the Reflection Room.
⚰️ Cemetery Tours at 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, exploring family stories and historic legacies.
🎶 Live Holiday Music in the great room by RIDDLE ON THE HARP from 2-3p, featuring selections from their Christmas album.
🍏 Seasonal Refreshments – charcuterie platters, hot chocolate, and apple cider provided by Hopwood and LaRue Catering.
📸 Family Portrait Station – optional add-on, with a UL photography student capturing portraits for the holiday season.
🖼️ Historical Displays – artifacts, postcards, portraits, and bird prints on view throughout the house.
🌿 Relax in the Gardens – bring your own chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor setting, or go for a hike on a nearby trail
🛍️ Merchandise Table – offerings from Cloverlea Foundation, Claytor Nature Center, RIDDLE ON THE HARP, and local history collaborators.

🎟️ Free – Explore the grounds and guided cemetery tours
🎟️ $20 per family – Includes farmhouse tour and refreshments inside
➕ $5 per family – Optional family portrait add-on

With student support from the University of Lynchburg History Department, Randolph College History Department, and the University of Lynchburg Art Department, plus contributions from local historians, RIDDLE ON THE HARP, and other community organizations.
