Iedereen in Nederland kent Sinterklaas, zijn witte paard en zwarte piet. Maar weten we wel echt wie hij is? De echte geschiedenis van het Sinterklaasfeest gaat meer dan 2000 jaar terug. De bronnen van ons Sinterklaasfeest liggen in Noord Europa en in Rome en natuurlijk in Mira. Ik ga terug naar de diverse bronnen van ons cultureel erfgoed. Met Saturnus, Nerthus of Nehellennia, Freyr en Freya, enkele middeleeuwse vechtbisschoppen en natuurlijk de heilig verklaarde bisschop Sint Nicolaas van Mira, die samen de basis vormen voor een van de oudste tradities van Nederland.
