Let's Draw Hands! Drawing Workshop

Hands are the trickiest (and most rewarding) subjects to practice. In this class, we’ll break it down step by step:
Lecture (30 min)

Review the underlying bone structure of the hand

Analyze the main shapes and proportions

Learn what to look for when drawing from life or photo reference



Hands-On Sketching Session (materials provided)

Quick 3-minute gesture sketches of your own hand

One 10-minute study from a plaster model

A longer 1-hour drawing from photographic reference

Medium: pastel pencils on toned paper

Take-Home Kit Includes:

Info Packet from the lecture
Practice exercises for perspective and basic shapes

The same supplies used in class (pastel pencils, toned paper, erasers, etc.)
