In recognition of International Women's Day on the 8th of March Jessica Lavers-McBain will be running a Women's Safety Workshop at Black Dragon Kai.
In Australia, violence against women is called many different things, including domestic violence, family violence, intimate partner violence, coercive control, workplace sexual harassment, street harassment and sexual assault.
π’ 1 in 3 women has experienced physical violence since the age of 15
π’ 1 in 5 women has experienced sexual violence since the age of 15
π’ 1 in 3 women has experienced physical and/or sexual violence perpetrated by a man they know
π’ Women are nearly three times more likely than men to experience violence from an intimate partner.
Education is the key to change.
In this FREE 2 hour Self Protection Workshop we will cover:
π Understanding violence
π Who do attackers choose, and why
π Situational & Behavioural Awareness
π Verbal De Escalation Strategies
π Use of Force Legalities
π Simple to learn and use physical defences
And more.
The seminar will be run by Jessica Lavers-McBain who is a 12 times World Champion, wife, and mother of a beautiful daughter, she is passionate about making our Community safer for not just her family, but yours too.
This Workshop is suitable for females 12 years and older.
The workshop will be conducted in a respectful, relaxed environment. No fitness or experience required.
