National Public Lands Day BioBlitz-Bird Walk

Free, family friendly event at Homestead's Education Center!

At 8 am, park staff will lead a bird hike exploring the prairie and woodland. Visitors may see woodpeckers, eastern phoebes, and possibly a few fall migrants like the Nashville warbler and Lincoln’s sparrow.

Come for an event, stay for the day!

National Public Lands Day participants are encouraged to look for, photograph, and record critters they encounter during their visit. Data will be collected on iNaturalist, but visitors do not need a device to participate; no experience is needed, and everyone is welcome.

BioBlitz participants will receive a coupon providing free access to federal lands that charge an entrance fee.
