The Aikido Association of Puerto Rico [プエルトリコ合氣會] is proud to announce a NIHON KARATE—DO SEMINAR hosted in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on January 26th, 2025. The training is open to students of any martial art or rank, and from any organization or dojo. Karate-Do instruction will be provided by Bolívar Ramírez, Hanshi.
Nihon Koden Shindo Ryu (日本古伝神道流) is a style of Karate-Do that literally means "Traditional Japanese style of the Path to God." It was founded by the late So-Shihan (Grandmaster) HIROYUKI HAMADA in the early hours of March 28th, 1964 at the temple called Isekotaigingie, located in Mie Prefecture, Japan.
The techniques of the style are composed of movements extracted and adapted by the founder from ancient Karate styles such as Tomari Ha, Shuri Te and To Te. These techniques were modified in search of maximum effectiveness and then refined and polished by So-Shihan Eng. FELTON MESSINA with the inclusion of additional ones.
The style is currently practiced in the following countries: Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Ecuador, México, Venezuela, Japan and the United States.
The Nihon Koden Shindo Ryu training's focus is realistic street defense with a strong background in traditional techniques and concepts. Ramírez Hanshi is committed to transmitting So-Shihan Messina's dynamic Karate-Do and profound teaching methodology to future generations of Karateka.
In the Spirit of BUDO friendship, we are not charging Seminar Fees in hopes of building future friendships and good will in the martial arts community in Puerto Rico. Voluntary contributions will be accepted. Suggested donation: $30.
