Sanar Cantando/Singing & Healing: A sound healing experience

Join me for Sanar Cantando, an immersive sound healing experience where music becomes a vessel for community connection, healing, and cultural remembrance.

I was born in Borikén (Puerto Rico) and now live in New York, where my journey as a vocalist, DJ, and cultural curator continues to be guided by a deep love for reconnecting with my Taíno and African roots. My work honors the diverse ancestry that shapes my Puerto Rican identity and fuels my commitment to decolonization and collective liberation through music.

Sanar Cantando was born from a profound yearning to care for mental and spiritual health in a way that feels more connected to humanity, spirit, and ancestral wisdom. In moments when the world feels heavy, I found that traditional paths to healing often fall short. Turning to nature — as our Indigenous ancestors have for generations — I discovered that the Earth already holds everything we need to heal, if we only pause to listen and connect. In those moments of stillness and surrender, I was reminded that we are living temples, with direct access to the divine energy that moves through all creation.

This project is the embodiment of that revelation — that healing flows through our gifts, our creativity, and our connection to Source. Through my original compositions, Taíno songs shared by community elders, and music written by my grandmother, the renowned Puerto Rican poet and songwriter Ángela María Dávila, I invite you into a sacred space of reflection, sound, and collective renewal. We will also explore sound healing and gentle somatic movement to help us ground and reconnect.

Sanar Cantando is more than a performance — it’s a spiritual journey of remembrance, guiding us back to balance, wholeness, and the healing power that is given to us by the Most High.
